Should I file an insurance claim for my windshield replacement?
Windshield replacement using insurance can still save you money.

The #1 most common type of auto insurance claim is glass damage, at over 7.5 million claims per year! 10% of those claims come from Arizona. Our rocky roads can cause headaches, but a local glass shop is just a call away to get your replacement going.
-Why call us first?
Calling us first give us a chance to walk you through the steps and double check what you need. Repair vs replacement, part availability, or recalibration. When you call your insurance company for a glass-only claim, you are sent to a third party company to assess the damage and file the claim. That third party is Safelite. Regardless of what is said over the phone, you have the freedom to choose ANY glass shop to replace your glass or repair the damage. We are a preferred and contracted shop with all insurance companies, and provide written workmanship orders to give you peace of mind and guarantee our work.
-How does it work?
Once we find out what you need, we get on the phone with your insurance and get your claim started. Then we'll add you to the call to verify a few things for the agent! They will ask for your policy number, the date the damage occurred, and how large the damage is. Once that's done, they send us a referral and you are done! We get you scheduled and come out to you to get your windshield replaced.
-Will my insurance premiums go up if I file a claim?
This question is a little harder to answer, but in most cases, no. Glass-only damage is covered under comprehensive coverage, and as such is much less likely to involve a rate spike. Another consideration is the frequency of claims. Unless you are getting a new windshield every couple of months, it is unlikely to affect premiums. Each insurance company has it's own policies for adjusting and filing claims. Check your insurance policy for more exact info.
